Last spring I was wandering through our Dutch landscape that made up for a new spring.
I made over 300 photos of the way we use that landscape to feed us here.
The crops were still at the beginning of their development, everyone knows the images that produce that: elongated farms with plants that make the rhythm of what we recognize as our countryside.
It is imposing to see how we have organized our food supply. Large areas, large machines, large yields.
Later that day, I came across the organic gardening of my neighbor: (www.landgoedgroenten.nl)
At least so impressive to see what it brings to sow and harvest our food, without big machines, but with the loving dedication of many volunteers and an entrepreneur with passion. It supplies, in addition to vegetables, love, balance and self-fulfillment.
That feeling, of scale size and the importance of detail, I tried to capture in an image, composed of parts of the three hundred photos I made that day: "Court of Eden"

The sense of space, you can move as you are. A free spirit who can go to unfamiliar places or safe harbors. Without barrier. Every person knows that desire and searches for a place where that is possible.
In this project the kite symbolizes the space we can give each other.
Space for each other sounds simple, but is rather complicated. I notice that I do not always have space for another personally. Not because I do not like another, but more because I'm especially busy with myself. Also, is a bit in the nature of my work. But, it's basically just because someone else may be there without your judgment or that you are in the way of fulfilling his or her desires.
Give me breath to breathe and move. Then I feel so much space that there is enough space for everyone. And since that's an interaction, I'd better start playing the same room :)

Every place we went, hiding the pleasure and comfort of our imagination.

The starting point is a concrete location, in the immediate vicinity or further away.
The moment i was there was sometimes insignificant but afterwards a gateway, to another world.

I knew I would not find it, but I was looking for the shame.
There was a dike, and behind it was water. And there was no one.
While I was hoping to understand why I wanted to go here, it seemed like the endless expanse diminished at the same time.
Long before I arrived, pieces of seaweed, reed and residue had gathered and were for me.
